Year 2's Beautiful Outcomes

Below you can see the beautiful outcomes that our Year 2 students have taken part in:

2026 - Summer 1 - Green Thumbs!

Green Thumbs in Year 2!

Our Year 2 budding scientists have been deeply immersed in their "Plants" topic this term, culminating in an exciting hands-on gardening session outside. In the classroom, the children developed a strong foundation of scientific knowledge, learning to identify the primary parts of a plant—including the roots, stem, leaves, and flowers—and discovering the vital functions each part performs. They also explored the essential requirements for plant growth, investigating how survival depends on the right balance of water, light, and a suitable temperature.

To bring this science learning to life, the children took to the school's outdoor raised beds to plant their very own fruit, vegetable, and herb garden. We cannot wait to watch our young gardeners care for their plants and see their scientific predictions come to life over the coming weeks!

2026 - Summer 1 - Playground Leaders

Our Year 2 playground play leaders have successfully stepped into their new roles, bringing incredible energy and leadership to our lunchtime breaks. Armed with enthusiasm and a passion for play, these young leaders have taken charge of organising and guiding cooperative games across the playground.

From demonstrating perfect timing during large-rope skipping games to encouraging teamwork, they are doing a fantastic job of making sure every child feels included and active. This wonderful initiative has not only boosted our leaders' confidence and communication skills, but it has also created a more vibrant, supportive, and harmonious playground environment for the children.

Keeping our Bodies Healthy

As part of the Learning Mission 'Keeping Our Bodies Healthy', Year 2 pupils have been learning about the five food groups and their significance in maintaining a balanced diet. To put their learning into practice, pupils created their own delicious fruit salads as part of their Beautiful Outcome celebration.

Our kind and supportive parents were invited to join their children as part of the Fruit Salad Medley Sale where they had the opportunity to purchase a pot of lovely fruit salad for £1.

The donations mean so much to our community as all proceeds will be donated to the Barking Food Bank, allowing us to give back while promoting healthy eating habits among our pupils.

Save our World!

A massive thank you to our Year 2 Parents for their active participation in our Autumn 1 Beautiful Outcome, themed Saving the Plant. The demonstrations highlighted our stance on environmental pollution and how to protect our beautiful Earth.

We hope you continue to advocate for this worthy cause- SAVE OUR PLANET.
