Children will need to arrive to school at 8:40am to be registered, before leaving school promptly at 9:15am. We will return by 3:20pm, ready to go home at 3:30pm.

 

There is no cost for this visit. However, in order to support the farm in raising funds, we are requesting £1.00 per child to go towards the purchase of 1 feed bag per child on the day of the visit. Pupils will be able to use the feed bag to feed animals (under supervision) during their visit. If you do not want your child to take part in feeding animals or if your child has any allergies towards animals, please let your child’s class teacher know as soon as possible, so specific arrangements can be made for your child.

 

On the day of the visit, please provide your child with a healthy packed lunch and a bottle of water. For those who would like the school to provide a packed lunch, will need to inform the class teacher by March 1st 2024 at the latest. All children will need to be in school uniform and be suitably dressed for the weather, wearing comfortable shoes.

 

If you would like to be a parent volunteer for the class please let your teacher know and take the following documents to the office as soon as possible. We would need to carry out a DBS check on every parent volunteer. Once this is done it will last a year, so you can come on future trips without needing to complete further checks.

 

If you are interested in being a volunteer, please take the following to the school office as soon as possible. DBS checks can take up to a month to process and would need to be completed at least 2 weeks before the visit day.

 

· Original photo ID (Can be passport / driving licence)

· 2 further original proof of address / ID documents (e.g. utilities bill / council tax etc) Must be dated within last 3 months.

· We need 3 original (not photocopied) documents from each volunteer.

 

The school will then send off for the DBS check. As part of the process you will receive an email to complete further section. Please do not assume you are coming on the trip unless your class teacher or office confirms that your DBS has been completed.
