On Thursday 11^th December 2025, our Year 5 and 6 pupils had a wonderful opportunity to participate in the Rights Respecting Conference with local primary and secondary schools in Barking and Dagenham. 

At Gascoigne, we are truly passionate about promoting equality, celebrating diversity and promoting non-discrimination. Our amazing, confident pupils devised and delivered an incredible speech in the Barking Town Hall chamber where their voices were heard by other schools. 

During their speech, our pupils clearly raised awareness of the 'UNCRC Article 2 Non-Discrimination' through sharing their learning in PSHE, their own views and the demonstration chant which was carried out in Year 5, linked to the importance of preventing racism. 

Our Year 5 and 6 representatives were inspirational to all during this incredible event. Well done future leaders!
