Being a parent is extremely rewarding and enjoyable, but it is not always easy.
It can also be demanding, frustrating and exhausting!
Even more so at times when you may be experiencing additional challenges alongside being a parent.
Marie and I fully understand this through our lived experiences in our personal lives and through working with many families; we have had the pleasure of working alongside and supporting them during our time of over 20 years working at Gascoigne Primary School.
We both feel everyone needs some form of support during their life, and it is a strength to seek support both for yourself and your family.
Our role within the school as Family Liaison Practitioners (FLP) is to work alongside families to provide both emotional and practical support and enable families to feel happy and safe during their time at Gascoigne Primary School.
Both Marie and I will always try our very best to provide the individual support you may need.
Types of support we can offer:
- Managing challenging behaviour.
- Routines and boundaries.
- Fussy eating.
- Toilet training.
- Parenting Courses
- Support with improving attendance.
- Housing
- Financial hardship.
- Domestic Abuse.
- Signposting or accompanying parents and young people to other services within the area.
Every Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in our Family Liaison room on the Gascoigne Road site we have our coffee morning. This is a great opportunity to come and meet new friends and learn new skills.
We are also here to listen if you feel you would just like someone to talk to!
