Gascoigne Consortium Climate Conference 2026

The Gascoigne Consortium Climate Conference 2026 was a powerful and inspiring event that brought together pupils from St Joseph's, Ripple, Gascoigne and Greatfields to share their thoughts, concerns, and solutions surrounding climate change and sustainability.

Students confidently delivered speeches on the effects of climate change, highlighting issues such as pollution, rising temperatures, flooding, and the importance of protecting our planet for future generations. They also shared thoughtful and creative ideas on how communities can improve sustainability through recycling, reducing waste, saving energy, planting trees, and making environmentally friendly choices for a brighter and cleaner future.

It was wonderful to see young people from across the consortium speaking with one voice on such an important global issue. Pupils participated with enthusiasm, maturity, and confidence, showing a real passion for making positive change while holding local and national leaders to account.

The conference was attended by distinguished guests, including representatives from the National Grid, the Barking and Dagenham councillor, and Nesil Caliskan MP, who met with the children and discussed the importance of tackling climate change together. Their presence helped reinforce the significance of the pupils’ messages and the importance of listening to young voices.

Congratulations to all pupils and schools involved for their outstanding efforts, commitment, and excellent presentations. The confidence, teamwork, and determination shown throughout the conference were truly commendable, and everyone involved should be extremely proud of their contributions towards creating a more sustainable future.
