Year 1's Beautiful Outcomes
2026 - Careers Day
What a phenomenal and inspiring day we had in Year 1! The classrooms were buzzing with ambition, curiosity, and excitement as our wonderful children dressed up as their future selves to celebrate our Careers Day. From brilliant scientists and tech-savvy professionals to brave police officers and future leaders, the children truly looked the part and stepped into their dream roles with absolute pride.
We were incredibly fortunate to welcome several parent guest speakers into our classrooms to share insights into their fascinating professional lives:
-
Parent Guest 1- an Economist for the Government, introduced the children to the world of finance, public strategy, and how big decisions shape our communities.
-
Parent Guest 2 - a Software Engineer, opened the children's eyes to the magic of technology, coding, and how computer programs help build the modern world.
-
Parent Guest 3 - who works for the Prosecution Services, shared the vital importance of justice, fairness, and the rules that keep us all safe.
Our Year 1 pupils proved themselves to be exceptional listeners and fantastic interviewers! They asked incredibly insightful, mature questions to our visitors.
2026 - Money Ready Workshop
Our Y1 children recently took part in a hands-on Money Ready workshop, where they developed vital real-world financial skills. Through playing engaging games, the pupils practiced recognising and identifying different coins before learning the fundamentals of how to budget their money.
Working together in small groups, they sorted coins and tackled practical math challenges that boosted their arithmetic, teamwork, and financial awareness.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to see how classroom mathematics connects directly to everyday life!
