Gascoigne Primary's In-School Provisions (ISPs) have been created to meet the varying needs of some of our SEND children, from nursery through to year 6. The children who access our provisions have an array of additional needs, like Autism Spectrum Disorder, and require a range of teaching and communication strategies to help them with their learning. We endeavour to equip our children with the life skills to be independent learners and, in the future, to use these valuable skills in the wider community. 

Three classrooms make up our in-school provision - Star, Rainbow and Sunshine - and they are all located at the Shaftesbury Site. The children accessing our provisions benefit from the specialist support it provides through highly experienced teachers and support staff. Regardless of which class our children are based in, Gascoigne ensures our children actively play a role in school life and are part of our school community. All of our children have access to their mainstream classes and will participate in their classes at different times of the day, depending on the children's needs, independence and abilities. 

Currently, 29 children access our in-school provisions, either on a full-time basis or for part of their day. Staff across the school take great care in knowing the needs and abilities of all children and ensure the necessary strategies are implemented to help our children be as successful as they can be. We work very closely with experts from the local authority and external professionals (educational psychologists, speech and language therapists) to help us strengthen our knowledge, increase our investment in our specialist teachers, and grow and share our expertise with all stakeholders.
