Joe Wicks is back for another week to motivate us for our love for PE. Please subscribe to his YouTube channel below to take part in his live PE lessons from 9-9.30am. Remember it is important to stay fit and active even though you are indoors.
LO: To know how to organise ideas around a theme.
Please begin with the mother’s possible home address and date (remember what time this letter is set in). While the letter is informal, it is still set in the war period, where colloquial language used today would not have been used then.
Introduce why you are writing (as Joey). Think carefully of how you are writing; remember, Joey would have been very emotional when he got separated from his mother. Share Joey’s thoughts and feelings to capture the correct tone.
For your first main paragraph, this will focus on an event that has happened since Joey was bought by the farmer. This could be exactly when he was bought. How would he have been feeling, what thoughts would have run through his mind, what are his thoughts about it now?
Ensure you link ideas with phrases and adverbials. This is a fantastic opportunity to use figurative language as well. Don’t forget to refer to the success criteria for guidance of what else you need to include.
Remember to read over your sentences once writing them ensuring they are making sense and are grammatically correct.
