What is Votes For Schools?

Votes for Schools is an online voting platform for schools that gives all young people a better knowledge of current affairs. It embodies fundamental British Values and helps prepare young people for life in a democratic society.

How does it work?

Each week the children are presented with a question in their year group assembly.  Information regarding the topic in question (which is usually related to the latest news or key topics such as anti-bullying) is given and the different viewpoints are shared with the children to allow them to debate and form their own opinions.

Every Friday, the vote of Yes/No is taken in each class and this information is collated.  This shows us what our children's views are, how they compare to local and national views of other children, and our vote contribution will support further action to be taken.
