Good Afternoon Everybody!

Good afternoon lovely Year 5,

How are you all after a fun but tiring day of learning? The answers are now up for War Horse. Please remember to design a book review for it and send it to your teachers, I have uploaded a book review template for you below to use as an idea.

I am really looking forward to seeing your acrostic poems. I am sure Ms Ferreira and Mr Fox are also keen to see some of your great learning as well, so please do share your exciting learning with us.

Remember to be using Bugclub, MyMaths and TT Rockstar's daily as part of your extra home learning. Your teachers are monitoring this regulary.

Have a relaxing day after your great efforts with your learning. You are all doing an amazing job and we are so proud of you all.  Drink lots of water with the weather being warm and stay safe.

As promised, I have also uploaded a brain puzzle for you to answer.

Joe Wicks is back for another week to motivate us for our love for PE. Please subscribe to his YouTube channel below to take part in his live PE lessons from 9-9.30am. Remember it is important to stay fit and active even though you are indoors.

LO: To know how to organise ideas around a theme

Today you will write and complete your acrostic poem. The success criteria will guide you on things you can include. The structure will differ from the poems you have done the past two weeks. Remember, with acrostic poems, the first letter of each line will spell a word. Here is an example to support you:

Tenacious even in the toughest situations,

Empathetic when we find things become difficult.

Ambitious to help us achieve our best

Compassionate when things go a little wrong.

Helpful and respectfully so,

Energetic from the morning until the end.

Resilient in helping us achieve our best,

Supportive when we need it most.

You can also decorate the poem once you have completed it as part of publishing.

Please use the link above to access the daily Maths lessons on BBC Bitesize. When you click on the link, you will see various subjects, click Maths and follow the instructions on the screen. Home learning focus will be on there daily. Each lesson will include a variety of activities, worksheets and videos. Complete all your learning in your book and Seesaw the work you have been doing daily, after self-marking the activities (answers will be found under the relevant activities).

Good Morning Everybody!

Good morning lovely Year 5,

How are you all? The weather looks so amazing outside it has just brightened my day, I hope it has for you to.

Today, you will be finishing the book for Warhorse. Please let us know how your reviews on it. Let's see how many of you will send book reviews to your teachers so we can share them on the website and maybe Year 4 might be so excited to read it when they come to Year 5.  Whilst we are talking about reading, please may you all use Bugclub daily, as we would want you to continue developing your reading skills so you can be the best possible readers ever. Lets remember without reading, we can't do much! You wouldn't be able to read my lovely message, instructions for your favourite game, directions, subtitles on movies, written messages from people, instructions for sports, important updates etc. I challenge you to find 20 reasons why reading is important and then send it to your teacher. We will post it on the website on Friday for the best reasons. This Friday, there will also be a reader of the week section on the celebration page, where one or more people will be awarded reader of the week from each class. Will you make an appearance on the page? GET READING!!

Your teachers and I are also looking forward to seeing your acrostic poems- please do neatly decorate them and send them over, as again, we will be posting the best ones on the website on Friday. Look down below as usual on this page for the rest of your exciting learning and I shall see you at 3 with the answers for reading and a mini puzzle.

In the meantime, stay safe and take regular brain breaks. Message your teachers or me with any questions.

Happy learning!
