LO: To use explore language features of poetry.
This week, we will be writing a poem about war horses. You have previously done much research on war horses, so you have a bank of information available to you.
The focus of the poem is war horses. This means it could generally be about them and their role in war or it could be a horse’s perspective of war. How would it feel? What would it experience? What might be its thoughts? What might it be hoping for? These are some things to keep in mind as you begin your sentence work and as you continue through your writing.
We will play around with sentences and vocabulary today using our knowledge of war horses and language features we explored yesterday, to create phrases and sentences that can be used in our poems. We are not writing the poem today, rather, we are experimenting our use of vocabulary using the success criteria for poetry.
Hello Year 5,
We are now using a fantastic resource called White Rose Maths to carry out our Math's learning. You need to use the link below to assess the learning, where you will see a video, questions and answers relevant to your day's lesson.
For this week you need to click onto Summer Term week 3 (w/c 4th May) and play the video for Lesson 2, then attempt the questions and self mark to help you reflect on your learning. If you have any issues please feel free to contact the Year 5 team on this website or via See Saw.
