Transition, Aspirations and Growing Up

Summer2: Transition, Aspirations and Growing Up

During the final half term of the year, as pupils approach the transition to the next stage in their education, learning in PSHE is devoted to coping with and embracing this change in their lives. This is particularly important for helping pupils to contextualise and overcome any anxiety that they may be feeling in relation to the changes to come. We work extensively with partner secondary schools to ensure that our Year 6 pupils’ transition is smooth and conducive to a successful continuation of their education.

Furthermore, through an age-appropriate and developmental programme sequence of lessons within both Health Education and Science, pupils are taught about the changes that occur through puberty (Years 3-6) and sexual reproduction (Years 5-6).
