Today you will need to complete your adapted stories. They need to end in the same way as the original story where the Giant joins Jack and his family to work in their van. If you have forgotten, click the link below and fast forward to the end of the story. Remember, you are writing an adaption so it needs to be something different - it might now be a pizza van or a vegtable van, candy floss van or maybe even an ice cream van!
Once you have finished writing the ending of your story, don't forget to read back through to check that your writing makes sense. Have you used any adverbs in this paragraph? Remember, an adverb is a word that describes a verb (a doing word.)
Jack quickly climbed up the beanstalk.
Quickly is the adverb and climbed is the verb.
Here is an example of some of the adverbs I have included in the ending of my story:
Jack and the giant frantically fell down the beanstalk and landed right outside the ice cream van. Mum happily ran towards Jack and enthusiastically hugged him.
Use the link below to help you choose some adverbs to edit into your writing. Don't forget to say your sentence out loud to an adult to make sure that it makes sense.
