Good Afternoon Year 4

We hope your learning went well and that you enjoyed your activities. How did literacy go today? Which type of poetry do you prefer Cinquain poems or Haiku poems, or perhaps you like both equally?

How did comparison work go on the two lifebuoys? Which one would you rather have if you were stranded out at sea?

Did anyone design their own lifebuoy? Remember there are specific recommendations that lifebuoys need to have. Go back to step 3  DT  lesson viewed last week on the 15.5.20. Recommendation numbers 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 9 are key. Have you included these features in your own design?  Perhaps those of you who ran out of time and did not finish your designs could complete it next week during the holidays? Send them in via Seesaw and some may end up on the Year 4 website!

Good morning Year 4 and welcome to another day of fantastic learning! 


Today in Literacy you will identify and compare a Cinquain poem with a Haiku poem. That’s sound exciting! Perhaps as an extension some of you make like to come up with your own set of criteria for a new type of poem that you have invented and give it an exotic name?


In DT you are asked to compare two different lifebuoys. One being the White lifebuoy. The other one is called the Circle lifebuoy. Take your time checking the meaning of new words in the Glossary. Discuss some of these words with your parents so you fully understand how the two lifebuoys are different. As an extension activity you may like to design your own lifebuoy and submit it on seesaw. We would love to view them.
