See you Monday.
Good Morning, year 6! I hope that you and your families continue to be safe and well. It looks like it's going to be another sunny day! For those of you who have shared your work already, via the see saw app-thank you. You have another opportunity to do so today- this time please can you share your best piece of learning from each lesson.
Please continue to follow the guidelines set out for using Seesaw:
- you have the answers, please mark your work before you upload it
- on your work and comment posts, please check your spelling and grammar
- keep your presentation neat
- in the comment box indicate what the piece of work is
- please only upload one picture per subject per day. For example, on the timetable today are the subjects: Maths, Literacy, SPaG and Music. So upload one piece from each of those subjects but also one thing about you if you have completed this.
Just a reminder about Music, it is on your timetable therefore you are expected to complete the lesson, each week. If you did not manage to login yesterday and complete your Music lesson , please can you do so in the next few days. Your login details were sent to the email address that your parents gave to the school. You can also check your parentmail or email me directly. It would be great if you could make a video of yourselves completing the music task and share it with your teachers via seesaw.
In the R.E. lesson today, you will be
Answering the following question, in your Home Learning books-
Would it be better if our Prime Minister was also our country’s religious leader?
Explain Why/ why not?
Top Tip: You've looked at the job descriptions for an Imam and a priest. What do you think the job description is for a Prime Minister? The prime minister is the head of government in a country with a parliamentary system. The prime minister is responsible for all the government’s policies and decisions. How would he carry out his duties if he was also our country's religious leader? Think about all the decisions he has to make. Would they be easier or more difficult?
Don’t forget to add detail.
Make sure you punctuate your sentences correctly.
Take a photo of your work and upload it onto seesaw, via the app so that your teachers can see your learning.
Looking forwards to seeing your written work. Hope you have a good day. We'll catch up later.
Read for at least 20 minutes. This could be your school reading book, a home book, Bug Club or another text you enjoy. Identify any new and unknown vocabulary and find the definitions.
Complete the 'Explain Your Answer Using Evidence From The Text' activity below. There are four different difficulty levels to choose from: Beginner, Easy, Tricky and Expert. You can select your difficulty level. Mark your answers using the answer sheet at the end of the questions.

Visit the White Rose Maths website here: https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-6/
Please complete Lesson Three (Mixed Addition and Subtraction). You can watch the video first to help you, then complete the worksheet and mark it. If you are finding it difficult, re-watch the video or look for other online tutorials (Khan Academy and Mathantics are good places to start).
Today you are going to edit and improve your completed Miptor care guide. As usual, check first for simple mistakes which you can correct: spellings, punctuation errors, missing words etc. Afterwards, you should focus on improving your writing using the checklist below. Try to uplevel your sentences, use a range of sentence structures and sentence openers. Perhaps you could read it to a member of your family. See if they fully understand how to care for a Miptor by the end of it! If they don't, you may need to add or change some information.
Practise your weekly spellings. Copy them into your home learning book and write their definitions.
Complete the SPaG activity below. There is a Powerpoint which you can work through to show you how to answer the questions. You can then work on the varied fluency questions. Select either 'Developing', 'Expected' or 'Greater Depth' depending on how confident you are with the topic. You can then mark your work and move onto the application and reasoning sheet.
Read through the PowerPoint below and complete the activities on the activity sheet.
