Hello Year two!
For reading this week we are going to be reading a variety of poems! Yes very exciting. As part of our summer term theme 'Street Detectives' we will kick start with rhyming poems that you might be familiar with.
Read and join in with a range of nursery rhymes on the theme of bakers and baking. Repeat and join in with predictable phrases and actions, learning parts by heart. When reading, look for rhyming words, alliteration and repetition.
Note: Rhymes could include Pat-a-cake, Simple Simon, Sing a Song of Sixpence and Five Currant Buns in a Baker’s Shop.
Talk about favourite words and parts of the rhymes.
Do you notice anything about the way that it has been written?
