Afternoon Message - Monday 11th May 2020
Good afternoon everybody!
I hope you enjoyed the first installment of the Silly SATs today! I had a lot of fun recording the video with Kenny and I hope you enjoyed trying to spell the made-up words! Ms Dushku has uploaded the answers below. Make sure you mark your spellings and see how many you managed to get correct.
Tomorrow you will be able to take part in the next part of the Silly SATs - the reading paper.
I hope you have had a nice day! Don't forget to keep sending your work to your teachers via Seesaw.
Have a lovely evening and we will speak again tomorrow. :)

Morning Message - Monday 11th May 2020
Good morning Year 6! I hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the VE day activities on Friday. We had some lovely weather and hopefully you were able to safely enjoy it in some way.
As you are probably aware, this week would have been your SATs week. Something which we have been working towards all year. Some of you may be happy that you don't have to sit the tests, some of you may feel disappointed that you may not be able to demonstrate all of your hard work and revision. But don't worry! Ms Dushku has kindly organised some silly SATs tests to make this week a little more fun and enjoyable and keep you entertained! We will begin this morning with the spelling and grammar silly tests, followed by reading tomorrow and then mathematics on Wednesday.
I hope you enjoy the activities alongside your regular home learning. :)
Read for at least 20 minutes. This could be your school reading book, a home book, Bug Club or another text you enjoy. Identify any new and unknown vocabulary and find the definitions.
Today, rather than completing an entire reading comprehension section, you will be focusing on a specific question type. Today is 'Find and Copy Examples' type questions. Select the difficulty level, depending on how confident you are with these question types. Each difficulty level comes with 3 or 4 short texts, followed by questions for that particular text. The answers are at the end so that you can self mark.
Complete the daily Joe Wicks (The Body Coach) PE lesson.

Visit the BBC Bitesize daily lesson website here (we are no longer using White Rose Maths): https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zncsscw/year-6-and-p7-lessons/1
Please complete today's lesson (Multiplying Fractions and Mixed Numbers by Integers). You can watch the videos first to help you, then complete the activities and mark them. If you are finding it difficult, re-watch the videos or look for other online tutorials (Khan Academy and Mathantics are good places to start).
This week, we have decided to give you a slightly different activity. We are going to give you a range of images. We would like you to pick one which you find interesting and would like to write about. You are then going to plan and write a fictional narrative based on that image. You need to use your creativity and imagination to come up with ideas - make it as interesting and engaging as you can! Below you can find a planning template which you can use if you would like to. All of the images can be found at the bottom of this page.
Complete the Silly SATs grammar and spelling tests.
Read through the 'Benin Art' PowerPoint and complete the activities. The PowerPoint and activity sheets are attached below.
