Good Afternoon Everybody!

Good afternoon Year 5 ,

How has your fun day of learning been? Well done to the pupils who are already uploading work to Seesaw. One tip: upload reading learning after 3pm once you have self marked so your teachers are aware of your scores. Remember to also send your poetry performances to your teachers on Seesaw so you can have a chance to appear on the Page of Fame.  Please do send me your reviews on how you find your math's learning as more challenges may need to be uploaded. How did you find DT? Are you all excited to make your meal next week? Try to gather your recipe items this week so you can make a seasonal meal next week.

As always, I have uploaded a fun puzzle for you to solve. Do let your teachers know the answers.

In the meantime, stay safe and continue being amazing.

Writing

Once you have written the poem, and thoroughly edited it, please do find someone to perform it to!

Here are a list of tips to keep in mind for your performance:

- Make sure you read clearly, so each word can be heard.

- Read with expression, use the commas to create impact and pause.

- Don't rush the poem, read through it calmly and match the tone of your voice to the topic of the poem.

- If there is a rhythm in your poem, make sure you use it!

Below you will also see some videos that will help you to perform your poetry in an engaging way. Please see them before practising and performing.

Your class teachers would be more than happy to see and hear a performance from you which you can upload to Seesaw

We are moving onto a different Maths platform. Please use the link above to access the daily Maths lessons on BBC Bitesize. When you click on the link, you will see various subjects, click Maths and follow the instructions on the screen. Home learning focus will be on there daily. Each lesson will include a variety of activities, worksheets and videos. Complete all your learning in your book and Seesaw the work you have been doing daily, after self-marking the activities (answers will be found under the relevant activities).

LO: To plan a seasonal (spring) meal.

You will be planning three different seasonal (spring) meals, that are healthy and nutritious. Once planning the three meals, you will choose your final design, ready to make next week. Once you have planned your chosen meal, you will need to write up a recipe for the meal.

Note: It may help to do research on different seasonal (spring) meals.

Good Morning Everybody!

Good morning Year 5 laugh,

How are you all? I hope you had a safe and relaxing weekend. Now we are back for another fun week of learning. I am so excited to see Orange classes poetry performances on Seesaw. The other teachers said the same about their classes too! Remember to speak loudly and clearly, maybe even including some actions! Who knows we may post the best 12 (2 from each class) onto the celebration page! Will you make it to the 'Page of Fame'?

In the mean time, stay safe and enjoy your learning, remembering to take brain breaks, eating healthily and drinking lots of water! I will be back at 3!

See you then
