Monday 18th May

HELLO again Year 3!

I hope you all had a lovely day and enjoyed today’s learning and activities.

Have you all marked your answers for Reading Comprehension, SPaG and Maths before uploading it on Seesaw? How did you get on? I love to see marks only when my children are sending me their answers but it’s okay if you got some answers wrong. Remember to always write the correct answer next to the dot , if you didn’t get it right (exactly like we self-assess or peer mark in class).

Have you checked ‘Golden Children’ folder? I did and I loved reading all the beautiful things Year 3 teachers have said about their Golden Children for this week. They are all magnificent role models for you all, keep it up, always try your best, make sure you send all your fantastic home learning to your teacher and you may see your name on the website next Monday. How many of you have been sharing your completed home learning with your teacher today? Did you listen to my advice so that your teacher is impressed? I know you did!

Remember to continue your learning by logging on to: My Maths, TTRockStars and Bug Club. We are closely monitoring your activity on all these websites as well.

Please ensure you are reading for at least 30 minutes every day.

Have a wonderful week! Look after yourself and your loved ones!

Mrs Stanciu ( VIOLET Class)

Good morning Year 3! Happy Monday everyone!!!

I hope you and your families are keeping healthy and safe and have had a safe and relaxing weekend.

Today is Monday so we are back for another fantastic week of home learning.

Thank you to all children who are sharing their amazing daily home learning with their teachers. Year 3 teachers would love to see even more children joining us on Seesaw. I love to chat with children in my class, seeing their beautiful home learning, challenging them with more trickier questions or tasks and sharing different Seesaw fun activities. So please guys, join us all!!! It’s really fun!!!

Also, I want to say a big ‘thank you’ to all parents who have joined in different Seesaw activities and are so engaged in their child’s home learning. You are doing a brilliant job and we are very proud of you all!

IMPORTANT: Remember to always mark your work before you upload it on Seesaw (answers are always available in each day’s folder). Always show pride in your learning, by making sure your handwriting is consistently neat and your learning is very neatly presented.

Today is GOLDEN Monday, all Year 3 teachers will be announcing their Golden Children so go and check the ‘Golden Children’ folder for this week. You may find your name there, who knows? Go for GOLD everyone!

Today’s home learning looks like this:

In Writing, you are going to write the introduction of your newspaper report.

Top Tip: Remember to change the writing from direct speech to reported speech.

Here’s an example: Direct speech: He said, “I live in the city centre”.

Reported (indirect) speech: He said he lived in the city centre.

This week in Maths, you will need to complete some more work on fractions, today’s task is based on unit and non-unit fractions, including fractions of shapes. Remember to self-mark your answers before uploading it on Seesaw.

In SPaG lesson, a tricky one today, you are going to be learning about Using Apostrophes of Possession with Plural Nouns. I know many children love to use apostrophe ( ‘) in their writing, but we need to make sure we always use it accurately. Carefully read through the lesson presentation before starting the activities so you’ll all be successful.

Reading Comprehension today is a Newspaper Report!’ Back to Earth with a Bump’ !

I’m sure you’ll immediately spot the features of this newspaper report. Answers are also available so remember to self-assess your work.

Art today!!!Today’s lesson is so interesting, you will be researching about Ancient Greek theatres and you’ll need to design your own Ancient Greek theatre mask. Can’t wait to see the pictures of your theatre mask on Seesaw today!

I will be back in the afternoon. Stay safe and I hope you’ll enjoy today’s learning and activities.

Have a lovely day!
