Message for Green Class

Dear Green Class, 😊

I hope that you are all in good spirits (last day!) and are eager to begin your summer break. Before we end this school year, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to you and your families for your support and cooperation during this very strange and challenging year. Thank you very much! 😊

Although we did not spend the expected or usual amount of time together, I feel that we have made many wonderful memories and have had some great experiences as Green Class of 2019-2020! At this time, I would like to remind you of some of my happiest memories/experiences shared with you; hoping that these will fill your hearts with joy and put smiles on your faces as you reminisce!

Our trip to the Tower of London was one of the main highlights of the year. The interest you developed in the topic (The Tudors) after our field trip was admirable. It was clear that you were keen to learn more about this family and you did! You kept building on the knowledge gained in class by doing further research, not only did you acquire new knowledge but you also developed your research skills.

It fills my heart with pride and joy whenever I think about the interest you developed in reading stories written by a special author after reading one of his texts in Literacy. You loved the class text so much that many of you asked your parents/carers to purchase the entire series of books from this author! Some of you have kept me up to date on the number of books from this author that you have read during lockdown! Keep going!

Sitting here, I can see the look on your faces when we investigated what happens to food we eat! All those “yucks” and “ewwees”. But I suppose you will always remember what happens to the food that you eat on a daily basis!

Green Class, thank you for being such great performers during your assembly. You really rose to all the challenges set for you and as a result, the outcome was brilliant! Thanks for working together with your peers and me and I would like to encourage you to keep it up in Year 5.

Finally, I would like to say thank you to your wonderful families for the support they have given to you especially during lockdown. Many thanks parents for taking on the roles of teachers and support staff. I am aware that it has not been a simple or an easy process but you to have most certainly risen to the challenge.

To Green Class, I want to say thanks a million, make sure that you continue to develop respect for each other, work together, share with each other, care for each other and make your class environment a wonderful place to be. I will miss you all! Hope to see you soon!

Best wishes in Year 5 and beyond!

Ms Radcliffe
