Friday 07.05.20

You are now familiar with sharing and division and we know the division sign/symbol.

Today we will be looking at division number sentences using Purple Mash, so you will need to log into Purple Mash. Then go to 2do and click on it. It will take you to “Arrays- Division Statements.”

Now we have used arrays already and these arrays will help us with our division because it forms a visual aid for us to look at.

In this activity you will see a question for example 6 ÷ 2 = ___.

There are 3 options for your answer and you need to click on the correct one. However, there is also the array, the visual information of the number sentence… make sure you look at it to help you.

6 ÷ 2  could mean, I have 6 buns and I share them equally between 2 children. How many do they each get?

Or

I have 6 buns and I divide them equally between 2 children. How many do they each get??

Let’s see how many questions you can get in 10 minutes… can you finish them all?

Remember to click done and then next to move on to the next question.

Have fun!
