Good Afternoon Everybody!

Good afternoon lovely Year Five,

How have you all been? Did you have fun with your reading activity? Let your teachers know your thoughts on it on Seesaw. The celebration page has now been updated so please ensure you read it, you never know you might be awarded! If you haven't, do not worry as you might have a chance next week. We appreciate all of your hard work and determination from you and your families! It hasn't gone missed.

Have a fabulous weekend, hopefully the weather will be more sunny! I do love the sun! Please make sure you are all drinking plenty of water and are wearing suncream, a hat and sunglasses if you are out in the sun this weekend. It is important you stay safe, that is our priority!

See you next time and take care!

Joe Wicks is back for another week to motivate us for our love for PE. Please subscribe to his YouTube channel below to take part in his live PE lessons from 9-9.30am. Remember it is important to stay fit and active even though you are indoors.

This term, as part of your reading learning, you are required to use Bug Club everyday for 30 minutes and then spend the other 30 minutes of your reading session to complete another reading activity we will provide.

When using Bug Club, it is important you are answering the questions carefully, by referring to the text to find the correct evidence to support your answers. Your teachers will be monitoring your answers carefully, so ensure you are putting in the same effort that you would at school.

When answering reading comprehension and vocabulary questions, remember to be using taught techniques from school and annotate the questions and text, remembering to also refer to the text in your answers to support your points. A good tip is to read the questions first before you read the text, so you have a rough idea on where the clues for the questions and answer may be.

It is important you are reading everyday to help you develop your reading skills as well as learn new vocabulary, which will make your spoken language and writing even better! These skills will help you later on in life and out of school, not just for your learning in school so please ensure you are reading regularly.

LO: To use joined handwriting to publish a non-chronological report.

After you have thoroughly edited your entire writing piece and made all your corrections (and possible have read your work aloud with someone at home), please publish your work in your best joined handwriting with marginal errors. Take your time, we would like your work as neat as possible.

Once you have finished your learning, it is crucial you spend at least 20minutes on MyMaths or Times Table Rockstars (swapping between them each day), to ensure you are reviewing your learning and revising your maths skills making them stronger. Please let your teachers know on Seesaw if you are struggling to log on.

LO: To be able to make and edit a video.

You will be making a video on anti-bullying for the school website (so think about your audience).

You need to:

1. Take video clips, ensuring you have thought about the framing and type of shots you need to take.

2. Edit and trim clips on the video. Add voice-over or background music (this could be your own soundtrack).

3. Add titles and credits.

4. Lastly, show your video to an audience, for example family members and get their feedback.

Hardware: digital video camera, inbuilt camera on tablet

Software: Movie Maker, Audacity, Podium

Apps: iMovie, Do Ink green screen, Garage Band

Good Morning Everybody!

Hello lovely Year Five,

How are you all? Yipppeee it is FRIDAY!! Who else is excited for a big brain break? Today's learning is all uploaded, please let your teachers know your scores for arithmetic. Wherever you are getting questions incorrect, please ensure you are revising over those topics on My Maths and TT Rockstar's so you get even better scores next time.

I will be uploading the celebrations of the week at the end of the day. Who will be the Reader and Mathematician of the week? I wonder who will also receive a gold nomination? Ooo it is so exciting! Stay tuned laugh

In the meantime, stay safe and take regular brain breaks when you're learning. I am so proud of all of you!

Take care
