Good Afternoon Year 4

We are back again to see how far you are with your learning.  How was the Maths?  Did you encounter any difficulty?  Send your teacher samples of your recorded learning via the seesaw app.  Most of you have a range of learning in your journal.  Your teachers enjoy reading them.

I hope you have included most features of a recount in your writing.  If not, revisit your work and see how best you may up level it. Post us some to read.

Did you manage to improve the sentences in your SPAG activity by adding an apostrophe?  I hope you will include apostrophes in your list of punctuations to make your sentences read better.

We cannot wait to see the colourful posters that you have created about “Say no to discrimination”.  Did you add some captions to substantiate your ideas/images on your poster?

How far did you get to with your musical instruments?  I hope you followed the instructions on the video carefully.  It’s fine if you have your own way to go about the project.  You have another week to finish it off so don’t worry if you could not complete it.   Let us know how you got on with it please.

Enjoy the rest of the day and remember to stay safe!  We will be back on Monday.

Friday 12th June 2020

It’s another new day!

As we always do, let’s start the day with some physical exercise.  Follow Joe Wicks link and have some fun with him.

In today’s mathematics, please visit BBC Bitesize webpage link below to access your daily maths learning. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/z63tt39/year-4-and-p5- lessons/1  Complete the tasks in your books and remember to share some of your work with your teachers.  You also need to practise the TTRockstar at the end of the session. The sound check will show you how well you are doing.

We are very proud of you for working so hard on your recount.  We would like your writing to have fewer errors and beautifully presented.  Today, you are to edit your recount using a checklist.  Ensure you include all the features to do with recount in your writing.  Please ensure your spelling is also accurate.  Use a dictionary to help where necessary.  Find time to rewrite your recount using joined handwriting.  You may add some pictures too.  Why not take pictures of some of your writing and ask your parents to email them to nradcliffe@gascoigne.co.uk or post some examples in your seesaw app, we can’t wait to read them.

You’ll be consolidating the use of possessive apostrophes.  See the power point to remind you of how to use singular and plural possessive apostrophe correctly. Your task is to punctuate sentences using an apostrophe (see worksheet)

In PSHE, you will be using the internet to help you understand what social justice, inequality and discrimination mean.  Record the meaning in your books.  You will also have to create a poster about “say no to discrimination”. Read the notes for some guidelines.

I know that you are ready to make your musical instrument.  Please read the teacher’s notes carefully, watch the video and begin to assemble the different parts to make your musical instrument.  You may ask an adult to help you.

Enjoy the day’s learning, and ensure you find time to have some fun too!
