Morning message- Friday 22nd May 2020
Hello Year 6,
I hope you and your families are all keeping safe and well.
Wow! Today is the last day of the term and I would like to give a massive shout out to all those children who have diligently followed the daily timetable and produced some fantastic learning for their teachers. WELL DONE TO YOU ALL! Please check today’s learning below and try as much as possible to complete them. Don’t forget to partake in the daily exercise with Joe Wicks.
Use the ITAF to check your writing and don’t forget to include some interesting and ambitious vocabulary and phrases. Also, pay particular attention to punctuation and use it effectively.
Do not hesitate to email using the contact form on the Year 6 page if you need help and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Enjoy your day!
I will be back later in the day.
Read for at least 20 minutes. This could be your school reading book, a home book, Bug Club or another text you enjoy. Identify any new and unknown vocabulary and find the definitions.
Today I want you to complete the final section of the reading paper (Feeding Britain). You have now completed all three parts of the reading paper. Make sure you mark your answers at the end and work out your total score!
Complete the daily Joe Wicks (The Body Coach) PE lesson.

Visit the BBC Bitesize daily lesson website here (we are no longer using White Rose Maths): https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zncsscw/year-6-and-p7-lessons/1
Please complete today's lesson (check the lesson has today's date!). You can watch the videos first to help you, then complete the activities and mark them. If you are finding it difficult, re-watch the videos or look for other online tutorials (Khan Academy and Mathantics are good places to start).
By now you should have completed your balanced argument which you have been working on throughout the week. Today you need to edit and improve your piece of writing. Begin by proof-reading and checking for any errors. This could include checking punctuation, checking spellings using a dictionary and checking it all makes sense. Then begin improving and up-levelling your writing. You should be using the Year 6 TAF, which has been attached to previous lessons. You should also be thinking about how you can improve your vocabulary, make sure your writing is formal, use a range of sentence openers and include more complex punctuation, if you haven't already done this.

Also, practise your spellings and write the definition of each word.
Read through the PowerPoint about 'Evidence of Evolution'.
Complete the activity sheet based on the PowerPoint.
