Dear Roxo pupils (Egielbert next year),
Miss Essid here, your new year 4 teacher. I am looking forward to meeting you all in September, as I am just like you, I do not know you, I do not know what you look like. Maybe some of you know me who knows? I am a year 5 teacher, I love teaching and you will be my first year 4 class at Gascoigne School! My favourite subject is reading, I enjoy reading as it is for me a way to escape from this world and to go on infinite adventures!
From my love of reading, grew my love for writing, I think I need to thank all those great authors whose books I have read and which helped me develop good writing skills. Thank you all!! I am sure you will also join me in thanking them.
The other two subjects I love are Maths and Science, I love Maths and its world of numbers, patterns and infinity as well as Science for its world of investigations and discoveries.
I have heard so many great things about you that I can’t wait to start our new and exciting journey as a class in which I am sure we will achieve greatness.
I have high expectations for you all so my piece of advice for this summer would be for you to relax and enjoy your holiday, however please allow one hour of work every day for example log in on TT Rockstar's as you know in year 4 you are required to know all your timetables by heart so why not start from now spending 20 minutes every day in the garage section, it will definitely strengthen your timetables knowledge. After TT Rockstar's, 20 min on Bug club why not read one book a day? Last but not least 20 min on MyMaths to catch up with the outstanding homework? Believe me it doesn’t take long to keep you in shape during the summer!
Most of all, I do not want you to worry, as we are doing everything for your transition into year 4 to be as smooth as possible and we have done everything to ensure that you will be safe in school among your friends and your teachers. I will do all in my power to help you in your learning journey from September onward.
Until then have a wonderful holiday! I look forward to meeting you all for our wonderful journey together!
You have to put in many, many, many tiny efforts that nobody sees or appreciates before you achieve anything worthwhile.
