Hello Ari Class,
My name is Mrs Iqbal and I have been working at Gascoigne Primary School for over a decade now so you have probably seen me around.
I hope that you’ve all been safe and well during lockdown. I’m sure that you’ve missed being at school and seeing your friends. Your teachers have missed you too! I understand the situation that is currently upon us is surreal however your mental and physical well-being is also important too so make sure you continue to look after yourselves during the school holidays.
Your new classroom will be on the second floor of the Shaftesbury’s site, at the end of the corridor. There is a play deck opposite our classroom and we also have a rooftop playground! The school timings for the Shaftesbury’s site are slightly different to the Gascoigne road site. The school day begins at 8:50 and ends at 3:05pm.
Your first unit in Y6 will be based around Evolution- you will be learning about Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. You will also be comparing how his theory is similar or different to the creation stories we have studied. During the first half-term we will also be swimming!
During the holidays, please keep up with your reading on bug club and ensure that you have completed all of your learning on Mymaths and on TTRockstars. Additionally, please continue to practise your handwriting. Your letters should be joined. You should also practise completing a whole page of writing in 15mins!
Stay safe and look out for your family and friends.
Enjoy your summer break.
See you on September 7th!
