Good afternoon year 2,

Hope you have had a good day completing your activities.

Have you thought about an acrostic poem? I am looking forward to read your poems at the end of the week.

How did you get on with completing your comprehension of the poem? I really enjoyed reading the poem.

I hope you added the money correctly. Remember to look at the real coins and notes if your parents can lend you some.

Year 2 teachers are extremely proud of those children who are reading books on their Bug Club. We want everyone to read books and remember to answer questions in complete sentences and also to give explanations when required. Also, don’t forget to go on Rock stars and Purple Mash.

Remember to tidy up at the end of the day and keep talking to your family if you are worried about anything.

Have a lovely evening and stay safe!

Dear Year 2,

I hope that you are keeping safe at home.

I have seen some wonderful pieces of work which you have been putting on Seesaw. We are very impressed the way you all are continuing with your learning at home. Well done and keep it up.!

In Literacy, you are writing poetry. Today you are going to look at the features of an acrostic poem and look at some examples so that in the next few day you can write your own! How exciting is that?!!!

In Spag you are working with ‘th’ sound. See how many words you can come up with!

Your reading task today is to read the poem 'The Owl and the Pussy Cat' and answer some comprehension questions.

In Maths, You will be adding different amounts of money. Remember to change pounds into pence before adding together this will make adding easier. Once finished, log into My Maths where there are lots of other activities for you.

In RE, you are looking at giving up food. Have you ever given up something?

Have fun learning today. Why not try BBC bitesize there is lots of interesting stuff.

Have a good day!

Mrs Datta
