Good afternoon Year 2,

I hope you have all had a wonderful day of learning. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to read our new non- fiction text about coastlines. I love learning things about the country that we live in, there’s so much that I still don’t know. I’m really looking forward to seeing your setting descriptions that you write. I stood in my garden to inspire me to think about my senses. Don’t forget to make sure that your written pieces of learning are of a high standard. We expect to see interesting sentences using the skills that you have learnt throughout the year.

I hope you all managed to revise your place value skills today, it’s really important that we don’t forget what we learnt at the start of the year even though that seems like such a long time ago. Place value is a really important aspect of Maths and without it we would not be able to add, takeaway, multiply or divide. Don't forget to self mark your learning before you upload it onto seesaw. The answers have been provided for you.

How did you like the handwriting warm up activity today? Did it help? I know it helped me because I’ve been doing lots of work on the computer so the muscles I use with handwriting are not being used as much. I loved todays Science lesson I used my swimming pool to test out the buoyancy of some every day objects in my house. Most of my predictions were correct but some objects surprised me.

I hope you have a lovely evening, make sure you get plenty of rest, keep hydrated and have a good night sleep ready for tomorrows challenges. Miss you all.

Lots of Love

Good Morning year 2,

Welcome back to the start of a new term of learning at home although I have to admit that I can’t wait until we can all be back together.
We have been so lucky to have had some very sunny days and I hope you have managed to spend some time outside, whether that be in your garden or out for your daily exercise. I can see from walking around the area where I live that people have been very busy in their gardens using the time they are spending at home to do all those jobs they haven’t had time for. In fact, it is becoming quite a competition as to who has the tidiest and best kept garden – somehow, I don’t think I am going to win!

I am really looking forward to seeing you take part in the learning activities your teachers have been preparing for you – don’t forget to send in some pictures or video of you and your work to your class seesaw so we can all share in celebrating your achievements. Also, if you have done something outside of the school activities you would like to share, please send it. I have missed seeing and hearing about all the great things you get up to at home!

Let's get started with today's learning. Enjoy the new topic and get creative.
