Good Afternoon Year 2 ,
It's me again, I hope that you have all had another amazing day of learning. We are so lucky that your teachers provide you with such engaging learning even though they can not be with you.
As promised I have attached a document below about me and my culture with some VERY old photos. I hope you enjoy finding out a little bit more about me because I know that I am really looking forward to seeing your presentations.
I would like to end the afternoon by saying well done to you all for continuing to persevere and remain active in achieving your goals. I miss you all and I am extremely proud of you all.
Lots of Love
PS : Don't forget to check out my poster below !
Good Morning Year 2,
It’s Miss Shermin, I hope you are all doing well. I’m so excited to see your posters celebrating your culture, take your time with this, it will be lovely to display some of these around our school. I started my own one yesterday, I will share it with you later on today, you may not recognise me in some of the photos. It’s such a lovely way to celebrate our differences and embrace the diversity that we have in our school. It fills my heart with joy to see that our school community is so strong and positive and this is what makes Gascoigne such a special place.
This half term I have challenged myself to use more sophisticated vocabulary within my Writing as I learn new words all the time when I read but I don’t seem to be showing off my extensive vocabulary. We would really love you to do the same this half term. Remember your targets from school and think about your teachers comments that they are giving you on SeeSaw.
Reading : SATs style questions- Read the text carefully and underline the question words.
Writing : Your SPaG activities are now included within your Writing lesson as we need to see you starting to use the skills you have used within your Writing daily. Today you will need to continue your leaflet, make sure you think about the reader. We want to be interested, use interesting vocabulary and different sentence styles, try to include some rhetorical questions to get us to think. We need to make sure that our Writing standards remain high.
Maths: Lots of you have shown that you really do understand place value so now its time to use your reasoning skills. You need to use your knowledge and understanding to explain mathematical equations. Check your answers after and self -mark before you upload onto SeeSaw. No cheating though!
Geography: You will be learning about coastal erosion today which is very interesting. You know lots about coastlines now so make sure you try to include your knowledge into your leaflets. Remember all of our learning is linked to help us get the best out of every subject.
I hope you have a splendid day! Speak to you later.
Lots of Love ,
