Good Afternoon Year 2 ,

It's me again Miss Shermin. How's your day been? I hope you have enjoyed your day even though the rain has been relentless.

I can't wait to see what imaginative things you have written for Writing , alliteration is tricky but once you get into the swing of it it's a great skill to make your writing fun and creative. Data handling is actually one of my favourite units of Maths and we often use tally charts in my class to make sure decisions that are made are fair.

I would like to end the day by reminding you all that I am so very proud of you all and that you are all superstars in my eyes. Us teachers miss you terribly and are really looking forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces soon.

Enjoy the rest of your day. Why not use your measuring skills from last week to bake a delicious treat like Mrs Vora did yesterday. I think that's exactly what I'm going to do this evening. . Here's  a link for you to catch up with todays news.

Speak soon

Lots of love

Miss Shermin xxx

Good morning year 2 !

It’s Miss Shermin , How are you all ? I hope everyone is doing well. It’s so nice to see all of the amazing effort you are all putting into your learning and I’m so proud of all of the surprise golds that have been received. They are truly well deserved. I don’t know about you but this weather is really confusing me. Last week the sun was shining gloriously and this week it’s dark, damp and miserable. I had to do my BBQ under an umbrella at the weekend πŸ€£.

I’m really enjoying all of the creative lessons this half term, last week I was in school with some of the year 2 children and we had an amazing time with bubbles. We tried the marble and milk painting but I think we may need to revisit that and get some more tops from miss Boyce as ours didn’t really go to plan however we still enjoyed trying. This is what learning is all about , trying your hardest, enjoying yourself and not giving up when you face difficulties.

I’m also really enjoying our core text this half term , it’s so imaginative I think Roald Dhal is an absolute genius I have loved his books since I was your age at school (it might be hard to imagine that I was once your age). Some children from my class have been recording themselves reading the text on seesaw and I must say that I am very impressed with the intonation and the fluency that they have when they are reading, I can see real progress. Maybe you can all have a go at that.

As you have been doing for quite some time now click the icons below to start your day of learning. I hope you all have a wonderful day, I will be back again later to check in with you.

Lots of love
