Our results at Key Stage 2 represent great progress by our pupils. Pupils and teachers alike deserve great credit for their hard work.

However, we know that our Writing outcomes still fall short of national averages.

To this end, we are continuing to work on the following priorities:

  • Embedding "The Gascoigne Way" - research led, high impact teaching of Writing
  • Ensuring high quality lesson planning and delivery
  • Providing exciting experiences ("hooks") leading into pupil writing
  • Providing high quality Speaking and Listening opportunities for pupils
  • Continuing to develop a "Writing School" - opportunities for writing throughout the day
