Our results at Key Stage 2 were below national averages in 2015-16. This year we are determined to raise standards across the school and bring them in line with national.

To this end, we are working on the following priorities this year:

  • "The Gascoigne Way" - research led, high impact teaching of Writing
  • High quality lesson planning and delivery
  • Exciting experiences ("hooks") leading into pupil writing
  • High quality opportunities for pupils to develop their Speaking and Listening skills
  • Developing a "Writing School" - enabling writing to occur throughout the day
