In July 2016 we asked parents of pupils with special educational needs how they felt about inclusion at Gascoigne School. Thank you to those many parents who responded and your lovely comments.
"Ms R always keeps me informed and updated"
"I am quite happy about my childs progress and care of the teachers to achieve this"
The results were as below:
Whilst many people feel very positive about the school's provision, there are still areas we need to improve on.
A number of parents both in the questionnaire and personally have expressed concerns about outside agencies. We are currently working with the manager of these agencies to improve this provision.
Another area of concern was home learning, both in terms of homework set for children and how to support children at home. As caring parents you rightly recognise how valuable your support and interest is. In order to support home learning we are starting to provide the following support:-
- Home learning support on the website. On this page we will be providing ideas on how to help your child with specific areas of difficulty, and provide links to useful websites.
- We will also be running workshops for parents, providing useful ideas on how to help accelerate your child's learning. Keep an eye on the noticeboard for dates.
If you have a particular area you would like us to focus then please contact us.
