The issue of homelessness is being placed firmly in the spotlight at Gascoigne this week, as members of staff prepare for an extraordinary challenge in order to raise both awareness and money.
In aid of the local organisation that provides a shelter for the homeless (Hope 4 Barking and Dagenham), a number of members of staff will brave freezing conditions next Friday, and spend one night sleeping on the roof of the Shaftesburys Site!
Pupils have already been busy learning about the challenges faced by people who live on the streets, and are producing work in response to this important social issue.
Look out for members of staff collecting money around the school this week.
At Gascoigne, we pride ourselves on our commitment to equality and social justice. We kindly ask all our local community to donate generously to this very worthy cause.
