World Book Week
This year the nursery enjoyed different teachers coming to class to read favourite stories and best of all being read to by our own year 6 pupils from Gold Class.
The children enjoyed making their own pancakes, cracking eggs on their own and tasting pancakes with different toppings.

Nursery Home Learning meeting for parents
Lots of parents came to find out what Home Learning in Nursery looks like and why it is important. Thank you all for attending and supporting learning at Gascoigne Primary school.
Fun day with Dads visiting our Nursery!
This term we are learning about growing plants and mini beast. We started the term by looking at things that we might find in our gardens. Children talked about sunflowers that they had seen in our school flower shop.

Cooking for St Georges Day
To celebrate St Georges day the children made traditional scones, sandwiches and fruit kebabs. They mixed the flour and rolled out the dough to make the scones.
Moving to Write!
In nursery we enjoy moving our bodies and arms to music. We draw writing patterns in the air as we listen to music and then draw these on paper. By doing this we learnt to draw straight, zig-zag, wavy, spiral, circular and curvy lines.
Easter Egg Hunt & Easter Bonnet Parade 2016
The children in Green and Orange Nursery went on an Easter egg hunt. They used positional language to describe where they found the eggs and estimated how many they have found. children then checked their estimates by counting the eggs. Green Nursery Won on two Occasions. they found the most eggs.
The children waited eagerly to start the competition between both classes.
Ready Steady Go! everyone rushed around the playground looking for different eggs.
Once all the eggs were collected, both classes counted the eggs to find out who had found the most.
Green Nursery were ecstatic as they won!
The Parade was great as the children had designed their own hats at home and wore them to school. we sang songs as we paraded around the school.

Our topic for this term is Travelling Places. We are learning about the different forms of transport used on land, water and in the air. children will be talking about their own experiences when going on a journey.
The Nursery organised a wonderful Educational Visit relating to our topic; what an exciting day it was for the children. Take look at what we did.
We walked around our local area to spot different types of transport. our mums and dads came on the walk with us.
Chinese New Year!
We celebrated Chinese new year by tasting Chinese food and listening to Chinese music. The children enjoyed taking part in the dragon dance.
On Pancake day we made pancakes and tasted these. In Nursery we were lucky to have parents come in and take part in our pancake race too.
Our Farm Visit!
Many different animals visited the children in Nursery and Reception. The children got the opportunity to get close and stroke the animals they liked. Many questions were asked about the Sheep, Pony and Goats.
After setting up a farm shop role play area, many children have been using fruits and vegetables to match quantity to a number. Children have learnt skills such as using thier fingers and counting aloud helps count more accurately.
World Book Day 2016!
The staff and children dressed as story characters for the day. Children enjoyed talking about their favourite characters and listening to stories all day. What an eventful day it was!
